To Green Acres, a majestic rainforest on the banks of stunning Dolphin Bay in Bocas del Toro, Panama, which is also an organic chocolate farm.
Not only will you have the opportunity to experience this beautiful archipelago, you’ll also be involved with important and crucial environmental initiatives during our exciting eight day Environmental Expedition.
You will snorkel among vibrant coral reefs, hike in lush rainforests, visit monkey island, and meet countless new plant and animal friends while learning about sustainable living.
You will help…
• rebuild fragile coral ecosystems.
• work with us to restore amphibian populations.
• have the opportunity to help bring back the critically endangered almendro tree.
• create pollinator habitats.
With hundreds if not thousands of species on the property you will be able to participate in mapping the biodiversity of the rain forest and you will assist us in developing a food forest utilizing permaculture principles.
And finally, you’ll see how we grow and produce our delicious sustainable, organic chocolate.
Through our Just One Tree initiative we have been able to reintroduce over ten thousand of endangered almendro trees to over seven islands and four key areas on the mainland.
immerse yourself in nature
There are no fences here on our 30 acres of beautiful tropical rainforest, and we share this land with an incredible amount of wildlife. Here at Green Acres, you’ll experience our family of over 50 howler monkeys whilst playing in the canopy of our rain forest.
Watch sloths slowly making their way through the jungle.
Thrill to dolphins playing in the bay.
Trip out to poison dart frogs.
And witness the beauty of the over 180 species of birds that have been spotted here at Green Acres.

Saving our planet has been my mission with Planet Rehab for over 20 years. I came here to Panama to do everything I can to save the rainforest and the thousands of species that depend on it including us.
Humans are currently causing the extinction of 150 to 200 species
every single day.

Sample Itinerary
Make your next vacation meaningful by becoming a volunteer to help save our planet! Travel with us to Bocas del Toro’s stunningly beautiful beaches and rainforests where you will learn new skills, meet like-minded people from around the world, and be part of conservation in action. No skills are required, but snorkeling or diving experience is useful for the Coral Reef Restoration Project
Expedition Contribution US$ 1,950, includes lodging, meals, transportation from Bocas Town.
