JUST ONE TREE- 10,000 Tree Challenge

Join us in donating to plant an Endangered Almendro Tree!

The Almendro tree is almost extinct now due to its termite-proof wood, but this keystone species is essential to lowland Caribbean Rainforests. Click here to read more about the importance of bringing back the Almendro tree to rainforests!

Over the past months Planet Rehab has placed numerous saplings with location that are committed to protecting them! You can be apart of this mission TODAY!

Each $20 will go toward planting an Almendro Tree! This will be used for:

-Growing and caring for your sapling

-Transitional transplanting to reduce "shock"

-Transportation costs to take your sapling to new Island homes

- Planting your sapling in its new home

-Supporting paying local indigenous community partners

-Administrative costs

Help us protect the Almendro tree and all the species that call it home. DONATE JUST ONE TREE TODAY!

INTERN LODGING

We want to welcome everyone to Planet Rehab's new home and invite you to join us here at Green Acres! You can learn more about all the wonderful activities we have to offer under our Expeditions page. However, in order to educate and bring in new people, we need to construct "casitas" for visitors to stay in. After completion, we hope to attract students, professors, families, and friends to join us for internships and educational tours. They will participate in mapping biodiversity at Green Acres and will work with local populations to help protect them for future generations.

AMPHIBIAN HABITAT

At Green Acres we have a biodiverse area full of amphibians, one of them being the Red Frog. Unfortunately over time, this species has gone extinct at a faster rate than most due to development across Panama and needs our help as it is a keystone species. We have three sources ready to donate Red Frogs to Green Acres, but due to our vast size, if we release them directly, the chances of them successfully establishing a population are slim. Our plan is to completely plant a structure with bromeliads (a plant that holds water that the frogs will move their babies to). Once constructed, we will introduce 30+ red frogs and allow them to repopulate. When we arrive at about 100 frogs we will begin to move the young out of the structure and set them free in a planted area. Through your generous donations we can bring the Red Frog back to Green Acres!

SALT WATER POND

As Planet Rehab sits across Dolphin Bay in Bocas del Toro, Panama, we are well aware of the world crisis of coral bleaching. It is through hard work and donations that we strive to create this salt water pond. With our fragging program, we can speed up the development of healthy coral, and in time, reverse the damaging effects various pollutants have had on coral reefs. Please consider donating to help us preserve this priceless natural resource.
